Thanks to all who have contributed to the fund drive: the list of contributors is printed in the GFA Bulletin.

The Michael Griswold House Committee has outlined plans for a restoration project on the house. Within the next two years it will be necessary to initiate the project plans to replace the window sash with reproduction quality windows and storms and to re-side the house with clapboards. We are first looking to our GFA membership for your support. Your contributions and pledges will give us the necessary financial foundation to begin the project. The success of the Restoration Fund Drive will signal other support sources of our association’s resolve to maintain and preserve this historical landmark. Unfortunately many historic structures don't have a family association and its membership such as ours to oversee them and to preserve them for generations to come.

Our Michael Griswold house is one of the best known structures in the Wethersfield Historic District. We can be very proud of the home and should pledge to continue the responsible care of our GFA headquarters and historic landmark. We hope that descendents of Michael, Edward, Francis and Matthew all consider supporting this project. The Michael Griswold house stands as a living community museum of our entire family's heritage.

We are asking our members to consider making a donation, or a pledge, or memorial contribution.All contributions will be listed in our family GFA Bulletin and on a Restoration Fund Drive plaque we are designing for display at the house. All donations will be deposited in a special account dedicated to the project. The following contribution levels are only suggestions and we certainly encourage members to donate at a level comfortable for their family. Memorial donations are a perfect way to remember and recognize a special member of your family.

Donations in check form should be made out to "Michael Griswold House Restoration Fund"and be mailed to our GFA Treasurer Jack Hooten. Pledge payment commitments should be detailed on the contribution form and the first installment sent with the pledge form. Members also have the option of making payment through Pay Pal.  If you pay on line but want to designate a memorial contribution, please send a covering email or letter to the treasurer with all pertinent information. 

The GFA has not reached out to its membership very often for fund raisers. We have considered this Restoration Fund Drive for some time and feel it is now necessary to make the appeal to the members. We sincerely hope you will make a contribution and we gratefully thank you for that decision.  And of course, we welcome contributions from non-members too!
