Macon will be our HQ but we will visit Historic Clinton, Milledgeville, Warner-Robbins which are within easy drives for bus tours and optional visits. Macon has the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, the Allman Brothers Big House, the Hay House, Cannonball House, Sidney Lanier Cottage and cemeteries with Griswold Graves. Nearby is the historic area of Clinton with markers for the site of the Battle of Griswoldville and Samuel Griswold’s cotton gin/munitions factory. Washington Memorial Library in Macon has one of the most outstanding genealogy collections in the South. Atlanta GA and all it has to offer is about 70 miles away and will be the closest major airport for travelers. Or you can extend your visit to the Southeast with easy travel to Savannah, Charleston or Hilton Head.
